Monumental Loneliness

A solitary figure is visible within monumental architecture, yet the surrounding space seems to hold them at a distance. Vast walls, deep shadows and expanses of emptiness give that separation a physical form.

Monumental Loneliness explores how the places we inhabit can make belonging uncertain. Architectural scale becomes a felt experience: the individual appears exposed, isolated or held at the edge of a space.

The spare compositions invite sustained attention to this quiet tension. There is room for a person within these structures. Whether there is a place for them remains an open question.
